With Summer’s arrival, the beauty of nature is everywhere. The flowers, trees, and fresh produce all dazzle, as at no other time of year. Nature in Summer is not just alive; it's thriving, vivid, and abundant. In order for you to get the best out of this magnificent season, we’ve included some easy beauty and nutritional tips below. Here’s to you and happy and healthy skin all summer long! 

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate 

Just because it's hot and sticky doesn't mean hydration is no longer essential. Choose fresh light textures (Gel cleansing serum to cleanse; Rinascimento serum to hydrate and nourish) and apply immediately after cleansing or bathing, ideally while your skin is still slightly damp. Make sure to drink plenty of pure water (plus extra, if consuming caffeinated and alcohol beverages) and eat plenty of water-rich foods such as antioxidant-rich summer fruits and veggies. 

Protect and Repair 

Summer days are about protection; summer nights are for repair. In the mornings, after cleansing, always apply a facial moisturizer with Spf (such as Illumina day cream). Avoid peak sun hours and make sure to bring along a hat and sunglasses. In the evenings ,after cleansing, perk up tired skin with a gentle nourishing massage, using a few drops of Rejuvenating oil, before applying a deeply hydrating cream (such as Intensive bioactive cream). A few times a week, or when skin is extra dehydrated or in need of care, apply a reparative sleep mask before bed (such as Intensive Repair masque). 

Power up your plate

Summer is the best time of year to pack fresh produce and herbs onto your plate. Think fresh basil thrown over tomatoes or mix fresh herbs, such as mint and coriander, into salads. Sprinkle Thyme and oregano onto pizza or grilled meats.  Add fragrant lemon or lime slices to water or drizzle over grilled fish. All these healthy ingredients give so much flavor, making them ideal for light dishes that fill you up without weighing you down. Enjoy scrumptious summer fruits, such as juicy stone fruit, berries, and melon, to keep yourself satisfied and hydrated. Check out your local farmer's markets and if possible, visit them frequently to have your pick of the freshest produce. 

Get outdoors and active  

Summer is the easiest time to get active and spend time outdoors. Again, avoid peak hours in favor of early mornings before temperatures rise. Spending time in Nature has a powerful restorative effect on the mind and body, so if you can exercise near the water, or greenery, even better! Low impact activities such as walking outdoors, and swimming, help keep energy levels high while lifting the spirits. 

Choose Clean alternatives for beauty, hygiene, and home 

In summer stick with light breathable fabrics such as thin cottons and linens. Choose natural clean formulas for your baths and showers, and find a good deodorant, preferable to antiperspirant, which blocks perspiration with hefty doses of aluminum.
