Ivy

Scientific name: Hedera helix. 

Common name: ivy. 

English name: ivy. 

Parts used: leaves. 

Active ingredients: saponins, mineral salts (Cu, Mn, Al), calcium oxalates and flavonoids. They are found in the leaves and in the wood. 

Properties: used to treat stretch marks, due to a healing and elasticizing action for the capillaries. 

A climbing plant with dark green leaves, it covers walls and tree trunks, especially in shady, humid areas.  Its active ingredients are also useful today in hair care because renewing the scalp fortifies the hair.
