Scientific name: Melilotus officinalis L.

Common name: meliloto, sweet clover, small grass.

English name: sweet clover.

Parts used: flowers and leaves.

Components: coumarin, flavonoids, tannins.

Properties: promotes venous circulation function and microcirculation.

Curiosity: Galen first used it as an antispasmodic. The infusions are contraindicated in patients who take platelet anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents since melilot potentiates their effects.
